About Faith Lutheran Church
Faith Lutheran Church has been a vibrant center of worship and ministry within the Pleasant Hill community for almost 70 years. We are affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Our Lutheran heritage provides us with a cherished anchor to our past, while providing a valued guide for our future. The Church’s mission statement, “Grow Christ’s Life in Every Heart” emphasizes our focus on making active disciples and witnesses of Jesus Christ. Faith’s Christ-centered members possess welcoming, compassionate hearts and are eager to step out in faith and help when a need becomes known. There is a genuine sense that the Holy Spirit is working within this church.
Faith congregation provides many opportunities for members and the surrounding neighborhoods to become engaged in the Faith community. Our week-long Vacation Bible School program has evolved into an exciting Day Camp with most children coming from the surrounding neighborhoods. Members of Faith with a heart for children participate in a once a week program called Kids Club at a local elementary school. Kids Club is a free, after school program, similar to a mini-VBS where children play games, sing songs, and learn Bible lessons. Faith is also associated with the Monument Crisis Center and New Day for Children. For years, Faith has also sponsored local, under-privileged school children with our Backpack Project.
Our most recent, and largest outreach to date was the opening of Footprints Preschool in January 2019. The school’s mission is to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the children and the families of the preschool. The fun and care these children receive each day under skilled, faith-based teaching is both heartwarming and inspiring. Footprints Preschool currently has a waiting list for openings.
Worship at Faith is an inviting blend of traditional Lutheran liturgy and music with contemporary Christian music performed by our own Christian rock band, LivingFaith. Our exceptional choir welcomes adults and youth to join in singing praises to God, and our bell choir brings a special joy to worship. Sermons are biblically centered, and relevant to today challenging lives.
In addition to the many music ministries at Faith there is also a women’s ministry (Women of Faith), a senior men’s group (Over the Hill Gang) a high school youth group, several Housegroups and bible studies, and a Sunday School program.
Members of Faith are eager to show their love for one another, and possess a constant willingness to share their talents, time, and treasure. With a renewed focus upon meaningful worship, intentional discipleship, and significant relationships, Faith is poised to lead many in its community to receive Christ’s love as well.
